Once we decided to get married on the beautiful Island of Santorini the plans just seemed to slip into place. Michael and his team managed to accommodate any special requests with ease and the whole wedding day was perfect from start to finish. I was a little apprehensive before seeing the wedding location for the first time as the decision has to be made on pictures but as soon as we saw the spot I knew we had made the right decision – the view was absolutely breath taking even the pictures don't do it justice!!
I was lucky in that 40 friends and family were able to join us on that special day and all of them agree that a wonderful time was had by all.

We first visited the extraordinary island of Santorini in August 2003 for our annual summer holiday and unbeknown to Dee this trip was to be the start of our future life together.
On an excursion to the volcano, hot springs, and island of Thirasia, Nathan had chosen to ask one very special question. While swimming back to our boat from the hot springs, Nathan asked Dee to spend the rest of her life with him. After a few gulps of seawater Dee accepted the proposal.
There were many locations where we could have married, but there was only one real option, the island of Santorini . The search began for our perfect day. We started with the Internet and found that there were a few organizations that coordinated weddings on the island so we sent them a letter and the friendly, heart-warming reply that we received from Michael of Weddings Santorini did it for us. We then started the planning and were overwhelmed when 37 of our family and friends accepted our invitation to join us in Santorini for our special day. Throughout the whole planning process MIchael was extremely helpful and personable, nothing was ever a problem.
As the day drew nearer our excitement rose and eventually we were all at the airport on our way to Santorini. We met up with Michael the next day and we visited our wedding venue (Antoniou Winery) and the fabulous secluded restaurant 'Sea Side Lounge by Notos' for our evening reception, right on the beach. The preparations were made so easy and at no time did we feel rushed to make decisions; it was all at Greek pace!
The big day arrived and all was calm and relaxed from start to finish. The reaction of our guests as they arrived at the venue, was of amazement at how special the setting was, "this is like a Hollywood movie set" a guest stated. The venue ready, Nathan waited with guests for Dee 's arrival. Dee began her slow decent to where Nathan was waiting, looking relaxed and radiant. The tears had begun to flow and words were shared that sealed the 'bonds of marriage' between Dee and Nathan.
The celebrations of our marriage began, and the party moved on to the 'Sea Side Lounge by Notos'. Speeches were made by Dee's brother, Terry, remembering those who were not there to share the celebration with us; Billie, a close friend recalling on fond memories and Dee's very special qualities; and finally (but not least) Dom, brother and friend to Nathan and Dee. We were served a delightful meal of classical Greek cuisine with a very modern twist, one of the best meals we had experienced on the island. The setting on the beach was made more special as an orange full moon rose. As the night progressed, we drank local wine, listened to traditional Greek music and danced in a not so typical fashion.
When we woke the next day it felt as if it had been a magical fairytale. The memories will be with us forever, and with our guests for a long time. Michael and his brilliant team worked so effectively together - we are so grateful to them. Never imposing, calm and cool, making sure our wedding day was 'simply the best'.
